Eagles Guitarist Passes Away at 67

By Sandalie Gamage

Eagles guitarist, Glenn Frey, passed away on Monday in New York City. He died from complications that came from rheumatoid arthritis, colitis and pneumonia. His fellow band members, family, fans had words of sorrow, love, and respect for Frey.
The Eagles were a successful band in the 1970s, along one of their hit singles, Hotel California, in 1976. They became famous for their laid back, country tinged sound for their music. Frey was the lead guitarist who formed the band with Don Henley, Randy Meisner, and Bernie Leadon as backup for Linda Ronstadt in the early 1970s.
The Eagles have sold over 100 million records worldwide and were also put in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. However, though the public loved them, the Eagles weren't all too popular among critics. "Another thing that interests me about the Eagles is that I hate them," wrote rock critic Robert Christgau.

"I'm not sure I believe in fate, but I know that crossing paths with Glenn Lewis Frey in 1970 changed my life forever...¨ said Henley who was talking about Frey's death. Frey left a mark on the world of music and on his fans, friends, and family.
